Willow from buffy the vampire slayer gets her own comic from the writer of supergirl and the artist behind go go power rangers. In the context of buffys universe, we know that willow is a powerful spellcaster. We see subtle magic at work in this issue that moves to keep willow as isolated as possible.

Right from the first episode, willow is shown to pursue academic (and later magic) excellency, she is shown to be passionate about her studies and can be competitive, worrying over who will win first place in the science exhibition, or over her low sat score etc. I think overall willow's didn't have much problem with her worth, but rather with her ability to make her own choices and have them matter. Willow seems to need a lot of time to use her big moves so i think jean would probably win in a direct face to face. Give willow time and first strike she could win though.

She has a far larger arsenal of powers since magic is variety. Willow is a worthy addition to the buffy canon and is worth a closer look.
