What Makes Thriller Bark Arc So Memorable For One Piece Fans?

Despite not being a very long arc in the series, one piece's thriller bark saga still has fantastic episodes full of supernatural fantasy creatures, including ghosts and zombies. In summary, i feel like the thriller bark arc does many things truly unique. While i feel like oda could have done more unique things, i enjoy this arc for how different it feels from other arcs and how joyful it is tone.

The thriller bark arc is the eighteenth story arc of the manga and anime one piece, and both the first and only story arc of the thriller bark saga. During their journey through the florian triangle, the straw hats arrive on a seemingly haunted island called thriller bark, where they encounter. Seeing the scared trio go through thriller bark, contrasted by the rest of the crew making the horror island an absolute joke is some of the funniest content in the entire story imho. And in hindsight, going back to this arc for a rewatch was more enjoyable than the first time i watched it.

Thriller bark is my second favorite arc in the series because it was so much fun watching it. All of the strawhats diverse personalities shined the most in this arc in my opinion. And perona is my all time favorite character. A masterful blend of horror and humor, thriller bark stands out with brook's heartbreaking backstory and zoro's legendary sacrifice. While pacing wavers, the arc's unique atmosphere, strong character moments, and perfect balance of comedy and darkness make thriller bark an essential one piece arc.
