Turtleboy blogger aidan kearney is facing a new witness intimidation charge as authorities allege he targeted a witness in the karen read murder case by speaking into a security camera outside. Thursday is the first time kearney has had a court appearance of his own since a mistrial was declared in read's case last week. Aidan kearney, the controversial blogger known as turtleboy, was indicted in december on charges of intimidating and harassing witnesses.

The confrontational blogger known as turtleboy was charged wednesday with witness intimidation and conspiracy related to a criminal case against a woman accused of running over and killing her boyfriend, a boston police officer, with her vehicle. The judge's decision comes after a tense hearing last week when a lawyer for turtleboy argued his speech was protected by the first amendment. Even still, a judge said the blogger was on thin ice.
