One piece is one of the most popular manga and anime series of all time, with many classic arcs that rank as some of the best in shonen storytelling. But how do these arcs compare with each other? It's a question that's difficult to answer due in large part to how consistent one piece is.

Thriller bark was fantastic especially in the comedy department but man did i not care one bit for the arcs antagonist or the battles except for usopp vs perona. The oars/moria fight bored me to tears and made the arc hard to finish for me. Unfortunately skipping canon material will bite you back at some point and theres a lot in the current arc that ties back to thriller bark. If the standard anime is too much of a stretch, you have two options, one pace or the manga.

Its unfortunate that thriller bark was sandwiched between two of the best arcs in one piece. It wasnt the worst arc or the most boring, and it does set up some recurring characters and introduces brook. Thriller bark is my second favorite arc in the series because it was so much fun watching it. All of the strawhats diverse personalities shined the most in this arc in my opinion. And perona is my all time favorite character.
